Please join me and my friend, a fellow disabled Veteran, Ricky Raley, as we fundraise and raise awareness for an organization that has changed my life completely: Homes For Our Troops!
I am fortunate to be one of the Veterans who has received a specially adapted, custom home from HFOT, and it has been life changing for not only me but my entire family. This home has given me safety and accessibility that any able bodied person has, not to mention freedom for me and my loved ones. Before this home, simple tasks of getting through doorways or reaching the cabinets were not so simple anymore. These once easy tasks have been difficult in my wheelchair, and thanks to HFOT these functions are easily accessible again. I am grateful they are now just a normal part of my day. HFOT has given me back my independence, and I want to Pay It Forward and help other Veterans in our program.
Raising money for HFOT allows me to help advance our mission of Building Homes and Rebuilding Lives. As the world adjusts to Covid-19, many of the annual fundraisers which benefit HFOT have been canceled. The cancellation of these events impacts donations and proceeds that were intended for HFOT, and their revenue is down. I know, firsthand, the powerful impact this organization has on Veterans and their families, so I have come up with a small solution to this large problem. Ricky and I will set out on a one day one-hundred mile ride, on our handcycles, to raise funds for HFOT.
We will start and end this amazing journey from my home in Noblesville, IN on September 19, 2020. We are asking for your support with our efforts through donating to this page and sharing with your family & friends on all you social networks. Ricky & I may be doing the riding; however, we need your help with raising money and spreading the word about our race and HFOT.
Please join me in my efforts to support this wonderful organization!
