Join us in raising donations to build a home for local Marine SSgt Thomas Linville. In 2011 Staff Sergeant Linville was injured by an IED in Afghanistan. He, his wife and their 2 daughters need a new home in order for him to live more independently and focus on his rehabilitation. Homes for Our Troops is funding a home for them at no cost and would greatly appreciate your donation. Homes for Our Troops is a top rated charity with zero government funding. 60 percent of their operational budget is generated by private businesses, family foundations, individual donors and fundraisers like this one. We had a flag run and BBQ on June 4th in Springfield where we raised about $90. We also collected donations at Cars and Coffee this month and got an additional $95. If anyone has any ideas for more events in the future please let us know. We will most likely be having a Dine & Donate at Texas Roadhouse in the near future so keep your eye out for that or email us and we can let you know when we decide to have it.
Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.
Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to Homes for Our Troops has gone directly to their program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
Please join us in our efforts to support this wonderful organization and thank you to everyone who has already donated!
