Bill McCarthy

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Homes For Our Troops DIY Running Program! I have committed to raising funds and awareness for Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) while running each of the three races of the 2019 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend this November - 5K, 10K and half marathon; a total of 22.4 miles. HFOT is a 501(c)(3) organization that builds and donates specially adapted, mortgage-free, custom homes for severely injured Post-9/11 Veterans.

One of the greatest gifts we can give to these heroes is a safe and functional place to live. HFOT builds homes that provide freedom and independence so that our most severely injured Veterans and their families can live safely and comfortably and rebuild their lives.

The donations you make to support me will help HFOT do their important work of building homes and rebuilding the lives of our severely injured veterans. You can be assured that your donation is put to good use because Charity Watch has awarded HFOT an A rating and has included HFOT on its list of Top-Rated Military and Veterans Charities.

This is the third year I have run for Team HFOT. I have seen the homes HFOT builds and the 40-plus modifications first hand, met the veterans and have witnessed how the homes have helped to rebuild, energize and add independence their lives by removing many daily obstacles. Something as basic as taking a shower is no longer one of the most dangerous things they do each day. HFOT builds these homes where each veteran chooses to live and continues its support and relationship with each veteran after their home is delivered, to assist them with rebuilding their lives.

No amount is too small. Every dollar helps HFOT build a home for and support a severely injured veteran just as every step gets a runner across the finish line. Together we can make every mile count. Thank you for your support.

Bill
