Country House & Homes For Our Troops Win at Kentucky Derby

Sentient Jet

Join Team Country House in supporting our Veterans!

Team Country House and Sentient Jet have partnered on a collaborative mission to raise awareness in support of Homes For Our Troops. Realizing a prescient vision of building and donating adapted homes for injured veterans, Homes for Our Troops is a game-changing non-profit with significant social impact.

Launched at the 2018 Kentucky Derby, the partnership builds upon Sentient Jet’s multi-year campaign in support of Homes for Our Troops. During the inaugural year, the campaign generated significant local and national media attention, including prime coverage on Fox Business TV and NBC Sports Network, among others. Additionally, it garnered considerable direct donations.

As such, this year, on May 4, 2019, the ownership group and connections of Country House, together with Sentient Jet, were honored to be joined by Homes For Our Troops and a group of heroic Veterans on Derby Day. Special guests of honor included purple heart recipients that had sustained life-altering injuries during their respective tours of duty: Army Specialist Brett Bondurant, Marine Corporal Travis Echols, Army Sergeant Tony Doyle, Staff Sergeant Matthew Wheeler, Marine Sergeant Dustin Johns, and Army Sergeant Josh Wetzel.

The group was thrilled to cheer on Country House, who ran the race of his life on behalf of Homes For Our Troops and clenched the Kentucky Derby win in a historic finish. The colt wore a blanket throughout the lead-up to the Run for the Roses as well as an emblem on his saddle towel to raise awareness for Homes For Our Troops.

“Celebrating Country House’s victory with our veteran guests was an amazing experience, and one that won’t be forgotten anytime soon,” says President and CEO of Sentient Jet Andrew Collins. “Perhaps more important, though, was the exposure that the horse gained on Homes For Our Troops’ behalf. His victory continues to put the organization on a national stage, and we’re thrilled with the awareness and funds he has helped to raise and we thank LNJ Foxwoods and the rest of the Country House Team for making this all possible.”

Please join us in donating to this critical cause. Your support helps families rebuild, reconnect, and reestablish a future defined by hope, healing, and community.
